The Long Weekend So Far

This weekend is May Bank Holiday - May Day to the socialists among us.

Flowers and blossom is everywhere.

Isn't that sweet?  Even Hawthorn can look nice for a couple of days each year.  The thorns from these bushes are responsible for most of the punctures I get on my bike!

Dog walks in the sun...

A picnic on the beach.  Shame we have pebbles, we all had numb butts by the end...

Breakfast in bed...

\Simple things but they all add up to a wonderful time!

Sounds like a fantastic weekend! Beautiful weather, a walk in the country with the dogs, a day on the beach (despite the rocks) and breakfast in bed. That's my kind of breakfast.

oooo that's a proper breakfast! Sausages, baked beans, bacon, fried egg, mushies, and toast with lashings of butter. My mouth is watering.
Now I'm heading to the kitchen for my lonely bowl of Weetabix......
Weather here is truly amazing, we have gone from Winter last week to Summer this week.

That looks like a great time! I like the idea of beans with eggs and I'll have to try it.

The beach! Nothing beats that in nice weather.

Nothing like a nice long weekend to get some good relaxation done. But what is this breakfast in bed? You are one spoiled man, you know that? :-)

You seem to make the most of your weekends. I wish I had an easier time relaxing. I feel like I have to squeeze everything in on my days off. Today will be a good example of that.
Your breakfast looks incredible - although I'm a sweet breakfast eater and would enjoy your meal more at lunch time. In fact, your plate looks very much like what we would eat when camping. Those mushrooms look delicious. Did you just saute them? (And what's the red stuff next to them??)

Agg79 - A breakfast like that really sets you up for the day...

Shammickite - Weetabix is healthy, but does not hit the spot does it.

Betty - You have never had beans and eggs together?

Riot Kitty - We live right in the coast but rarely go to the beach...

Terri - Yes, I know that ;-)

ShadowRun300 - Yes, the mushrooms are sauted. The red things are baby Italian tomatoes that have been cooked alongside the mushrooms. They are like little bombs of sweet juicyness.

Well, there's a weekend for you! Flowers blooming, dogs walking, butts numbing...
Did you eat that breakfast in one sitting?

Now THAT'S what I call the breakfast of champions. Too bad I'm sitting here hungry, then see that photo. Toast! I love toast with enough butter so you can feel it on the tongue! Baked beans! Eggs sunny side up! Not sure what those round things are....mushrooms? I don't care. I'm so hungry I'd eat the plate.

Abby - You make me feel very greedy :-)

Lotta Joy - Yes, they are mushrooms. I love mushrooms. Get yourself a big breakfast, it really does you good from time to time!
